Collect Change & Sell Donor Card Pin Ups 2013 & 2014
For a week leading up to the dodge ball tournament during both campaigns FCCLA members volunteered to collect money donations at lunch or sell a donor card pin up. Money collection cans were placed at the lunch line counters, and FCCLA members walked through our cafeteria collecting change, we were able to raise a reasonable amount of money through these efforts!
SELL T-SHIRTS 2013 & 2014
To help promote No Kid Hungry our members purchased and wore the “Ask me why I’m wearing orange” T-shirts. For our second campaign we chose to create and sell our own No Kid Hungry shirts. We sold over 55 shirts and it was another huge success!
If you would like to purchase your own No Kid Hungry Shirt please contact us at [email protected]! Shirts are $15 each and ALL proceeds go to No Kid Hungry!!!
Canned Food Drive 2013 & 2014
Our "No Kid Hungry" committee decided that we wanted to be able to make a difference in our own community by hosting a canned food drive. The drive our first campaign was poorly organized due to the majority of our efforts laying in the dodge ball tournament and bake sale. For our second campaign our goal was to put one member in charge of the canned food drive so that their main focus can be in aiding our own community with food donations, and it worked very successfully.
1st Dodge Hunger Dodge Ball Tournament march 2013
All fundraising efforts lead up to the main event of the week, our Dodge Hunger Dodge Ball Tournament. Never having held a dodge ball tournament before we were uncertain about the participation we would have. We also hoped to get a good spectator turn out to watch the tournament. To our great surprise over 50 students signed up to play, and 100+ fans came out to enjoy the night! During the half time of the dodge ball tournament we did a short presentation to explain why we were hosting this tournament and how our fans could do more to help the cause. The night was a great success and will definitely be an annual event at Elizabeth High School.
Great American Bake Sale 2013
The Elizabeth High School Catering Class volunteered to take charge of our bake sale that would take place during the
dodge ball tournament. Through a variety of in class activities the catering class not only helped us out but were able to gain an understanding for "No Kid Hungry" themselves! The Catering class was required to find healthy recipes, budget, promote, organize, bake, and sell the goods. FCCLA members also donated baked goods to be sold the night of the event. The profits of the bake sale were added to our donations.

No Kid Hungry Spirit Week Feb 27th 2014
To really get students excited for our second "No Kid Hungry" campaign we incorporated a "No Kid Hungry Wear Orange Day" into the schools spirit week. We decorated a hallway in our school, promoted wearing orange that Thursday and held a bake sale that morning before school. We had great participation!
2nd Dodge Hunger Dodge ball Tournament March 6th 2014
Our first dodge ball tournament was such a huge success, we never imaged we could possibly make an even larger impact during our second campaign. We were able to increase our number of players and even had a teacher team and a fire fighter/police chief team. We had a huge turn out from students, parents, and community members to enjoy a great night of dodge ball!
Bake Sale MArch 6th 2014
Our bake sale in our first campaign was such as a success, we decided to have another one! Hosted by our FACS foods, and catering class! It was another huge success!
